Supply Chain Services Including E-Marketing Platform In Agriculture

Through this project Koratty Service Cooperative Bank aims to create such a cohesive, and coordinated effort towards a seamless supply chain services, including the end-mile connectivity with ecommerce orientation, this is arguably the first time an organisation in the Co-operative sector is attempting such a project. This could be a model for other organisations as well, and will have a positive impact on accountability and transparency.

Project Mission

  • To create and maintain a seamless and sustainable technological supply chain management system suited for the Cooperative sector, and the farming and supporting sectors.
  • To create warehousing, storage, packaging, assaying systems to support the entire range of products from FPOs, Cooperatives, NGOs, SHGs from across Kerala and India.
  • Focus on marketing GI tagged products of India, both agricultural and non-farm products.
  • Deliver quality products at a fair price from the producer to the customers.
  • Employment generation for youth and women in surrounding areas.
  • To support Farmer institutions, FPOs, Cooperatives, Small holder farmers, SHGs, through its holistic model.
  • Create an affordable, quality supply chain model with traceability for the produce in the Cooperative sector, that can be replicated by other organisations.

Through this project the Bank aims to be a national model in the above documented aspects. The farmers of Kerala will no doubt benefit from this project, but products that have been GI tagged from across India will receive a larger market base. Kerala as a consumer market along with its large non-resident Indian population will help generate much needed market along with global visibility for the products.

The United Nations (UN) has identified the current decade as the ‘Decade of Action’ and all countries, including India, are working to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The emphasis nationally has been on making agricultural supply chains more sustainable, transparent, traceable and innovative to prevent any kind of exploitation while working towards guaranteeing food security. Thus, there needs to be an imperative focus towards conceiving a strategy through dialogue and discussion for establishing and modelling a sustainable Agricultural Value Chains framework to improve productivity, profitability and environmental outcomes, leading to robust and resilient agricultural supply chains.

Project is funded under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), supported by NABARD, and Kerala Bank. Technical Management Organisation: RM Agronature Pvt Ltd.
